Leavenworth really loves its festivals. At last count, there are 22 separate festivals.

Dates are indicated for the 2012 Festivals. In cases where the dates have not yet been announced, the 2011 dates are given. We will continue to update this page as dates are announced.

Bavarian Ice Festival - January 14 - 15, 2012

Front Street at Night Enjoy a weekend of outdoor activities for everyone including Leavenworth's famous Smooshing contest, the Ice Cube Scramble for kids 6 and under, the Bavarian Mug Relay, Snow Sculptures, Dog Sled Pulling Competition, and fireworks on Sunday evening.

Red Wine and Chocolate Festival - February 11 - 14, 2012

Wine and Chocolate tasting in multiple locations throughout town.

Carnival Day - February 11, 2012

Kids Nordic ski cross, the Great Bavarian Pinecone Biathlon, Alpine Race, ski jumping, big air competition, BBQ, torchlight parade with costume contest.

Spring Sensations Pear Festival - March 31 - April 30, 2012

2012 is the second Spring Sensations Pear Festival in Leavenworth.

Leavenworth is the pear capital of the country and we are here to shout it from our mountain tops! This area is the largest exporter of organic pears, and second in all pear exports, so we've name April, our month of Spring Sensations. Tantalize all your senses with a month filled with tastes, sounds and outdoor fun!

Throughout the month of April, restaurants, shops, wineries and B&B's are highlighting their pear prowess with specialty pear dishes created just for you. Follow the pear map to see what is available.

Leavenworth Choral Festival - April 14, 2012

This is a biannual festival where five choirs are selected from applications received. Choir members participate in a Friday evening desert reception, Saturday workshops, and on-stage rehearsals, culminating in the public concert on Saturday evening. The concert features a massed choir of over 200 voices.

Leavenworth Ale-Fest - April 21, 2012

This is a benefit for the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. Delicious food and popular northwest bands. Beer tasting with the brews of 20 micro breweries.

Art In The Park - May 1 - October 31, 2012

This show is considered the longest continually-run outdoor art show in the Northwest area. This event is organized by Village Art in the Park, a non-profit arts association in Leavenworth.

Maifest - May 11-13, 2012

Maifest Dancers Celebrate Fruhling (Spring) in our traditional Bavarian fashion. Experience the Grand March, including village folk and visitor alike dressed in Trachten and traditional fare. Enjoy flowers, weekend entertainment, and dancing.

Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest - May 17-20, 2012

Come bird with us and discover the natural beauty of North Central Washington state. Hear songs sung only during the breeding season while you stroll, bike, boat, or van during the height of wildflower season. While birding is the heart of the weekend, activities also include wildflower walks, arts events, and family activities to ensure fun and learning for everyone, and for birders of all skill levels.

Kinderfest - July 4, 2012

A town Festival that celebrates children and their families. Fun for everyone, but especially the youngest of our population. Face painting, bird feeder crafts, free snacks, games, and balloons! Our mix of hands-on crafting and professional entertainment provides for a wonderful day in the sun. Celebrate our country's independence with wholesome entertainment and smiles that dim even the brightest of sparklers.

Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival - July 8 - July 22, 2012

Concerts each weekend and more in the beautiful Sleeping Lady Chapel Theater at Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort and Icicle Creek Music Center's Canyon Wren Recital Hall.

Icicle Creek Theatre Festival - August 19-21, 2011 (2012 TBA)

The Mission of the Icicle Creek Theatre Festival is to advance the American Theater by offering playwrights unique opportunities to develop and showcase their new works; to encourage aspiring theatre students by providing opportunities to learn from working professional actors; and to contribute to the enrichment of arts and culture in Washington State.

Icicle Arts Festival - September 2011 (2012 TBA)

2011 Icicle Arts Festival in Leavenworth features three days of music. This year's festival includes the Icicle Prize in Songwriting, a performance by Andre Feriante at Icicle Creek Music Center's Canyon Wren Recital Hall, film screenings by 2009 Icicle Prize winners, a free open mic with Leavenworth Community Coffeehouse,
Spring Flowers and workshops by guest judges from all over Washington State. Tickets are now on sale for Icicle Arts Festival performances, and registration is open for workshops at IcicleArts.org or by calling (509) 548-2278. A free interactive installation takes place at Icicle Arts Gallery through Sept. 19.

The Leavenworth Festhalle is throwing open the doors and bringing in dozens of Washington's favorite wineries. You are invited to to the Bavarian Village to taste outstanding wines, listen to some seriously cool jazz, sample local cuisine, stomp on some grapes, and enjoy a glorious autumn afternoon at the base of the Cascade mountains. This event is brought to you by, and is a fundraiser for, the Leavenworth Civic Center Foundation.

Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival - September 28-30, 2012

The Autumn Leaf Festival is Leavenworth's longest running festival. Come play at Leavenworth's oldest festival! A parade with over 80 floats, entertainment throughout, and fun for the whole family. Clowns, parades, yodelers, bands, singers and dancers.

Wenatchee River Salmon Festival - September 22-23, 2012

Indian dancers and storytellers. Outdoor sports, discovery hunt, endangered species exhibit, art & craft fair. See fish up close. Hatchery tour. Salmon Run - 10K run, 5K walk, small fry race.

Oktoberfest - October 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 2012

Live music, German food, arts and crafts, Bavarian clothing sale, and activities for the whole family. Oktoberfest in Leavenworth is the next best thing to being in Munich! Our own Musikkapelle Leavenworth will be joined by other musical groups from the US and Germany.

Christmas Lighting Festival - November 30-December 2, 7-9, 14-16, 2012

Christmas Lighting Your Bavarian Getaway transforms itself into a virtual snow globe of Christmas Magic. Crowned "The Ultimate Holiday Town USA" from the A&E Network and featured in 2006 & 2007 by Good Morning America. Leavenworth welcomes you with Roasting Chestnuts, Holiday Characters, Old Fashioned Caroling and pure simple Christmas Magic. Join us as we celebrate this special season and fill your heart with memories for a lifetime.
Music, parades, tree lighting, living Nativity, Christmas Bazaar, and the Leavenworth Summer Theater Christmas show.
