Christmas

Christmas spirit is in the air in Leavenworth, WA. During the Christmas Lighting Festival weekends are filled with festivities and the shops are filled with folk searching for a perfect gift.

The first three weekends in December are jam packed with festivities with Lighting Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Daytime hours on the weekends are filled with live music, roaming characters (including Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus!) and delicious sights and sounds.

But even without a festival it’s hard to beat the little Bavarian Village for yuletide jollies.

Christmas Shopping

On Front Street, Kris Kringl is a magical place. We love to wander through the decorated nooks and crannies. This is a shop where Christmas music plays all year long. If you have a favorite Christmas collectible you’re sure to find it here. Among others, Kris Kringl is an authorized Christopher Radko® dealer and carries every Dept 56® series. Theme trees are overflowing with every sort of ornament imaginable from angels to nutcrackers. We find all we need to put the finishing touches on your holiday decorating. Kris Kringl carries a large assortment of unusual Christmas lighting, snow globes, tree toppers, garlands and nativity sets. Open year round, this store is a must stop!

If Angels are a favorite of yours or someone you love, then Haus of Angels will be a favorite of yours as it is ours. We love to stop and see what new treasures Marlyn and Chauncy have brought in. Haus of Angels is currently in two locations but will soon be consolidating. Some of our favorite collectibles are Jim Shore®, Willow Tree® and Perfectly Paisley®. Besides angel ornaments and collectibles, you’ll find nativity scenes and wall hangings. We’ve found lovely Christmas ornaments and a Thanksgiving table runner at Haus of Angels.

Need a Christmas gift for your furry friends? A Paw Above is a store for the animal lover in all of us. They carry a huge line of pet treats, toys, equipment and clothing. You have to go in and check out the lederhosen and dirndls especially for your four legged Leavenworth fans.

Always wanted a fuzzy Santa hat or some great Reindeer antlers. Stop at the Hat Shop for all your novelty Christmas headgear.

So many shops in Leavenworth have delightful Christmas ornaments that just want to be taken to a good home. We find little treasures everywhere we look.

We’ve had the very good fortune to visit during Christmas season and seeing A Christmas Carol presented by Leavenworth Summer Theater. Festhalle, just two blocks from the Christmas Lighting Ceremony, is now the winter home of Leavenworth Summer Theater.
