Fruit Produce Left

Fruit and Produce

Leavenworth is right smack in the middle of fruit country. As you come into town from the east, you travel through the apple and cherry orchards. If you travel up the Chumstick Highway, you can see even more orchards. And all those orchards mean lots of fresh fruit.

In fact, every Thursday during the season, from 4:00 – 8:00 in the Lion’s Club Park, you can get fresh-from-the-farm produce at the Leavenworth Farmers’ Market. And starting May 11 until the end of October, the Wenatchee Farmers’ Market comes to the Lion’s Club Park every Tuesday from 8:00 – 1:00. So twice a week you can find fresh fruit and produce from the farm without even leaving town.

Just 5 minutes down the road in Peshastin are several nice fruit stands. Prey’s Fruit Barn is a nice place to find a variety of fresh and preserved produce and fruit.

And at Smallwood Farms, also in Peshastin, they have a petting farm, mazes, picnic areas and all sorts of activities for the kids, including the cow train. A cow train? What’s a cow train?

Cow Train

That’s a cow train.

And for the adults, the store has tons and tons of specialty foods of every kind. Hot sauces, huckleberry products, mixes, dry goods, canned goods, salad dressing and more. Great place to find something new and interesting.
