Bed and Breakfasts

A Bed and Breakfast, or B&B, is guest lodging, often in a private home, that offers overnight accommodations and, usually, a morning meal. You may be the only guests or there may be other travelers staying as well. Some offer private entrances, others are integral parts of the host’s private home. B&B is a popular choice for travelers who like to meet and get to know new folks.

Accommodations at Leavenworth area bed and breakfast inns will vary widely from rustic comfort to elegant luxury. Many B&B’s offer amenities like in-room fireplaces, spa tubs, luxury showers and private balconies. Many lodging choices include fun outdoor activities like snowshoeing, horseback riding or whitewater rafting.

Leavenworth is in the heart of Columbia Cascade Wine Region. Several Bed and Breakfast accommodations are located in or near wineries and provide easy access for a relaxed wine tasting tour. Your B&B stay may even include an evening wine tasting.

Breakfast is a really important part of a B&B stay. Breakfast at a Leavenworth B&B is often a hearty gourmet affair. Expect delicious offerings like quiche and home baked breads and pastries alongside local fruit and freshly brewed coffee. Some Bed and Breakfast inns serve breakfast in a sunny breakfast room or on a deck, others deliver your meal to your room or suite. A few inns provide continental breakfast items in the privacy of your room.

A pension (pen-si-on) is a small European style family run hotel. They’re usually larger than a B&B. You’ll find pensions, with their traditions of hospitality and romance, all over the Leavenworth area.

Bed and Breakfast inns and pensions are small, locally owned businesses. They depend heavily upon patrons to honor their reservations. Because of this, most B&B’s have pretty strict cancellation policies that vary with the season. Some require a two night minimum stay during the most popular of Leavenworth festivals like Oktoberfest or the Christmas Lighting Festival.
